The Kumho Solus TA71 performance tire is engineered by Kumho using a variety of patented technologies. A special silica infused tread compound， that performs really well on wet and dry roads， is used to mold the tread pattern. The Kumho Solus TA71 special tread compound is molded into an asymmetric pattern with a wet and a dry performance sectors that work together to provide excellent traction and handling in differing road conditions. The outer， dry performance sector has a broad shoulder rib that increases the contact area with the dry pavement， rigid intermediate and center ribs and wave sipes provide a stiffer surface that keeps the tire in contact with the road at all times， for enhanced responsiveness and handling on dry pavement.
The Kumho TA71 high performance tires inner， wet performance sector has an intermediate rib with hydroplane prevention technology. This works with the independent shoulder blocks to channel water away from beneath the tires footprint for enhanced traction on wet surfaces and increased resistance to hydroplaning. The wave-like sipes across the surface of the Kumho Solus tire， in addition to providing stiffness and stability， provide numerous biting surfaces that are able to better grip snow covered roads for winter performance.
